Police scold screamer

Current Affairs

A Napier man's penchant for visiting remote spots and screaming to relieve his stress has earned him a dressing down from police.

The 37-year-old man created plenty of attention on a hillside in South Wairarapa on Monday night.

Motorists traveling along the road from Lake Ferry through Kahutara were alarmed to find a man flapping his arms and yelling as he stood on the edge of a farm cliff.

Sergeant Kevin Basher said when police arrived, the man – a part-time actor – was still in full flight. The man was told to take his "theatrics" somewhere else.
