Getting around Auckland

Culture

Auckland, New Zealand’s largest and most diverse city is a gem amongst cities. A city where everyone lives within half an hour of sandy beaches, pristine bush, magic islands and beautiful parks. Its mixed and distinct cultural blend of Polynesia, Asia and Europe give an experience that can only be found in one place on our planet. From fantastic food to music to art to the great beauty of the outdoors Auckland is among the very few that can claim that it has it all.

In this guide you will find the most interesting landmarks and must see attractions. Auckland is a hustling bustling city that offers a range of great experiences. Enjoy coffee or lunch in the older and distinct city suburbs of Ponsonby or Parnell. For beautiful harbour views and fresh salty air try a waterfront restaurant in the Viaduct Harbour or Mission Bay, or cross the water to Devonport. You could always grab a steaming parcel of fish and chips and find a little bay or beach. Catch some great music or head out to some of the clubs in the Central City for a bit of fun. Jump on a fairy to some beautiful scenery and have a sublime time on Wiaheke Island, or do some great shopping in Newmarket. How about some bungy jumping in the land of the bungy or an exhilarating walk up the harbour bridge? For a bit of that gambling rush Sky City casino is a great place to not only lighten your wallet but to take in some wonderful views of the city.

One of the greatest things about Auckland is that when the hustle and bustle gets a little too much you can always find a great spot in one of the many parks around Auckland to have a bit of a sit and absorb the day. Because Auckland is situated in such a geographically diverse area with harbours, beaches, volcanic ranges and a sprinkling of islands, make sure you check out some amazing areas that are a bit Further Afield.
